Approach

What separates a good leader from a great one? Not merely saying words and playing a role but authentically embodying a role.

Skilled actors can transform themselves, make a role their own, and turn words into a story that captivates audiences and takes them on a journey. This ability isn’t a happy accident of genetics or upbringing; it’s learned through practice.

The same is true for leaders.

My knowledge of performing arts principals, coupled with over 20 years’ experience working with leaders and teams in the U.S. and Europe, gives me a unique ability to help professionals use their communications to compel and lead effectively. My method draws on the innumerable parallels between stage performance and professional success, including:

  • Self-awareness is required to motivate and inspire others toward an outcome.

  • The practice of being present is fundamental to leading with clarity and purpose.

  • Empathy and a shift of focus from self to other are required to compel others.

  • Performance principles allow a leader to influence an audience of any size, whether one or one hundred.

  • The shape of a narrative galvanizes an audience to action.
